At our school, the ICT’s available can be
accessed by any member of staff at any given time as long as they are
available. We use a register to sign for items. We must include the date taken
and the date returned. There is no schedule set for use of technologies. It’s a
first come, first served basis.
As far as ICT’s available for students, those are
accessed by them during scheduled class times and under supervision.
After school, an ICT could be signed out and used
by teachers, but there must be an agreement set up to secure the item.
The
only ICT facility we have would be the computer lab and library. These are
constantly supervised by our librarian and computer teacher. There is a Promethean
Board installed at our school, however it does not have a room of its own. They
are, instead, mounted in two homeroom classes. They are still available to the
entire school as the teachers whose classrooms they are in will switch with the
person wanting use of it.
We don’t have a clear, handwritten policy about
the use of ICT’s in our school. Instead it is just understood by everyone how
they are managed. We work as a team sharing without monopolizing the ICT’s for
longer than needed.
